Above Security was acquired by Hitachi Systems, Ltd. in October 2015 and has been operating as Above Security – A Hitachi Group Company for almost two years. Ever since, the company has been evolving to more effectively protect its customers with an expanded global reach, improved technology, and deep security and compliance expertise. Effective Monday, July 10th, 2017, Above Security will be operating under the new name “Hitachi Systems Security Inc.” – a milestone that marks the beginning of a new chapter for the organization’s customers, employees and brand.

Our core services (Managed Security Services and Professional Services) remain essentially the same. We are not changing our processes; our customers will not be impacted by this name change.
However, aspects of our services will be enhanced. Here is why.
Our why is to protect our customer’s from cyber-attacks by empowering their security organizations with the best people, processes and technology tailored to their needs, IT environment and goals. As we say in our mission, we want to deploy information security solutions that protect our customer’s brand, and allow them to harness the full potential of connecting people and businesses together to build trusting relationships that can be catalyst of worry-free collaboration and limitless potential.
If we use today to draw a line in the sand and create a clear starting point; to create a laser focus on our why.
We are becoming Hitachi Systems Security (and not Cybersecurity) because in addition to our current cybersecurity service offering, we will also be offering integrated security solutions in partnership with our sister companies to deliver converged security services. In other words, we will be providing a wide range of security solutions to secure organizations across systems, physical, and operations in a single, integrated solution.
We are excited to be part of projects involving “Smart Cities” security, which leverages IoT devices, big data, and always-on infrastructure demand integrated security solutions.
Hitachi Systems Ltd. is responsible for the core technology solutions driving Smart Cities while Inc. is delivering leading-edge security solutions to protect each innovation.
As there can be no innovation without security, this partnership is critical to securing each technology effectively, across multiple platforms and solutions.
Although Above Security’s website will still run for the time of the rebranding transition to Inc., our new identity is already reflected in our online presence.
Our website www.hitachi-systems-security.com replaced the old one. It contains the same content and resources and will be slowly rebranded.
Our Twitter account is now @HitachiSysSec. You can still find our previous handle but it will no longer be active. As for LinkedIn, our company page is now: www.linkedin.com/company/hitachi-systems-security. Above Security’s company page will still exist but will no longer be active. We are in the process of rebranding our assets and should have everything rebranded within the next few months.
