On March 16th, the threat actor group Clop^ claimed to have successfully breached Hitachi Energy, along with 52 other companies.
The breach occurred in the third-party GoAnywhere MFT (Managed File Transfer) service of Hitachi Energy, not in their own infrastructures. It is important to note that this service is not used by Hitachi Systems Security. GoAnywhere MFT is a solution for secure file transfer provided by Fortra, an independent company. Hitachi Systems Security would like to clarify that although both Hitachi Energy and Hitachi Systems Security belong to the same group, Hitachi Limited, the two companies do not share any services or infrastructures.
